Who should attend this course?

New and existing staff of nurseries and pre-schools, primary and secondary schools, faith schools, 6th forms and colleges, academies and free schools including independent and non-independent schools and universities. Any organisation with a main responsibility for identifying and responding to concerns regarding the safeguarding and protection of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

Where is the course held?

This course can be delivered at your place of work or at a venue of your choice by one of our experienced trainers. This course can also be delivered online.

What is the course content?

Each course is led and delivered according to the different learning styles of each client and is suitable for all staff members, particularly those with the responsibility of or acting as ‘Designated/Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead’. The course will include the following:

  • Definitions
  • Exploring links between statutory and non-statutory guidance
  • Aims and objectives including Best Outcomes
  • Investigating Abuse linked to Faith and Belief
  • Exploring ‘Harmful Practices’
  • Breast ironing
  • Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting
  • Honour Based Abuse
  • Forced Marriage
  • Exorcism
  • Identifying Victims
  • Establishing roles and responsibility of all staff
  • Exercise and/or case study
  • Responding to these types of concerns
What is the duration of this course?

Typical timings for this half day course are from 9.30am to 12.30pm but timings can be adjusted to suit a client’s needs.

Is this course certificated?

Certificates of attendance will be issued to attendees at the end of the training course.
